West Rand gangster Ralphie Haynes, the last member of jailed apartheid hit man Ferdi Barnard’s “Gangsters Incorporated”, disappeared on Friday 28 January 2011. He was last seen boarding a helicopter belonging to former cage fighter and bush war soldier Frikkie Lutzkie outside Pretoria. Speculation abounds as to whether he is dead or alive – did he fake his death (disappearance) or is he still alive? He leaves behind debt estimated at R80 million and a trail of fraudulent and corrupt dealings.
